About the Author

Hi! This is April Burke. I was born and raised in Virginia Beach. I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by supportive family and friends. I know they truly believe in me, and whatever I strive to accomplish in life. Cooking has always been my passion. I’ve been extremely lucky to be able to learn from and work with great chefs to be where I am now. Throughout my career I’ve picked up on a lot of skills from high-volume, high-quality restaurants. Along the way I’ve worked hard to absorb as much knowledge as possible. I truly believe it’s so important to put your soul into everything you do. The effort is worth the outcome. I always try to maintain a positive, optimistic outlook on life, and I find it to be very rewarding.
