I am not an avid sports fan and had not read any of Tim Tebow's previous books, so I didn't know what to expect when I opened "This Is The Day". But I was immediately pulled into his writing. I was convicted and inspired from the first page. Yes, I want to wake up saying "This is the day!" I don't want to live as a "one day-er" waiting for this or that to happen before I start to truly live. Tim's 12 chapters gave concrete ways to seize and live each day to the fullest. He shared his own stories and examples of how to embrace each new day. His writing was Biblical and practical. His words showed his deep love for God and Jesus and other people. His writing style was fun and easy to read, but full of deep meaning. This book has inspired me to embrace each day more fully. I recommend it to everyone. I was given a book by the publisher in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Tim Tebow's latest book, "This is the Day", asks readers to "Say Yes to your Dreams." Best known for openly showing his faith on the playing field, Tebow drops what I call, "wisdom nuggets" throughout the book. Having previously read his book, "Shaken", I kind of knew what to expect in this one and Tebow did not disappoint. Each chapter title begins with "This is the Day" and ends with an action plan like Say I Love You, Get in the Game, Leave the Past Behind, Listen to the Right Voice. Some of the "wisdom nuggets" I mined included: "Without a powerful view of God and knowing what's possible through Him, our capacity to thrive is completely diminished. When we begin to see God in a life-changing, miracle-making, revolutionary way, we can have the courage to take a step of faith." Or, "When you choose to live based on what God says and not what others say, you can live with confidence. You can live secure. You can live knowing He loves you, He cares for you, He has a plan for you, and He has a purpose for your life. You can trust God's voice." Born in Manila, Philippines the son of missionaries, Tebow's life experiences have been many and varied. I have been continually amazed by all of the things he's done in his 31 years on Earth. His heart for people - and often for the people that no one else seems to care about - shines through in both his words and his deeds. While he first came to national attention by winning the Heisman Trophy in college, he freely admits that without God, his disappointment over his failed football career would have been far more devastating. The stories he tells to illustrate his points will touch hearts. I know they touched mine. I especially enjoyed the stories he told about his involvement with the Tim Tebow Foundation, and A Night to Shine. It's easy to see, as you read This is the Day, that Tebow believes and lives the words he says on page 83, "Whether we realize it or not, people are watching us. What we say and what we do matter. When we live with purpose, we can make a difference that can leave a lasting impact....What you do for others matters." I can absolutely recommend This is the Day to anyone looking to be challenged to step out of their comfort zone, and into the life they dream of living. Tebow's conversational style is easy to read, and you don't have to be a sports fan to enjoy reading his book! I received this book from the publisher but the opinions expressed are all mine.

I’ve never actually followed Tim Tebow’s career. I knew he was the quarterback for the Gators during his time college known for writing John 3:16 in his eye black. I knew he fellow believer and he lived his life for God so when I heard about his newest book, “This is the Day,” I knew I needed to check it out. One of my favorite things about this guy is even though football and baseball are his passions, he truly wants to be known for his faith in God and how he serves others and God. This is a man who is humble, inspiring, encouraging, and a role model. He is the kind of man who instead of leaving Florida when Hurricane Irma struck, he chose to stay because he didn’t want to be where it was safest. He knew that millions were going to be hurting once Hurricane Irma came through and he wanted to help as many people as he could. And that is just one of the many examples Tebow shares as he encourages his readers to use today. Choose today to chase after your dream. Choose today to fight that addiction. Choose today to accomplish your goals. Don’t wait until tomorrow or next week to tell your loved ones you love them. Live for today. Throughout each chapter, he gives examples of ways of how you can apply his messages to your life. He even ends each chapter with a question that will challenge you to think hard about where you stand in your Christian walk. This is definitely one of my favorite books of the year because this is a book I truly needed to read. No matter where you are in your journey with Jesus, I highly recommend you pick up a copy. You won’t regret it. Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher for my honest review, which I have given. I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.
