Overview

Ricky's first adventure takes him to the Biblical time of David and Goliath.
Ricky, the rock squirrel, like many children, thinks he is smarter than his mother. When she tells Ricky the stream bed is a dangerous place, he ignores her warning. Ricky determines to explore this new and exciting land. His adventure soon turns scarey when he is scooped up by a human hand, slipped into a sling and unwillingly rides the stone that fells a giant.
His mother was right after all and Ricky rushes back to her loving arms. Ricky has learned his lesson of obedience.

About the Author

Sunny (SQ) Eads, an award-winning author of faith-based, inspirational fiction, was born and raised in southern Arizona. She received her higher education at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona and flew several years with American Airlines. Her love of Arizona and the mountains surrounding the state are evident many of her novels thus far. Sunny has lived in Arizona, New York, Pennsylvania, New Mexico and Texas. Kids will love the bright colorful illustrations and the imaginative rendition of the story of David and Goliath. Ricky is a character that the kids can relate to. He strays just a bit off the path and gets himself into danger. He flies through the air and lands splat on the giant's face. But, in the end, he is able to return safely home having learned that Mom is right. The large print makes this suitable for young readers as well as for younger children who will enjoy being read to.
