So unusual that all 4 novellas in this book are 5 stars. I loved them all! I will not write too much as I do not like to spoil the stories. Lecia Cornwall's "How a Lass Weds a Highlander" continues her standalone fairy tale novellas with a Princess and the Pea story. I have enjoyed all of them. According to legend, Alex Munro has 5 weeks to Midsummer's Eve to find, fall in love with and marry a bride with the fairy ring to restore the clan's luck, which has not been good lately. Cait MacLeod is sorry she thought her Sutherland cousin might be a good match for her and leaves his keep to go home. She gets lost in the woods, but found by the Munro who thinks she is an enemy Sutherland. So does Alex marry in time? Anna Harrington's "A Match Made in Heaven" may cause tears but is wonderful. Arabel loves Garrick, who works for her family. They plan to elope but she cancels due to family problems. He's furious she chose her family over him. Ten years later they find they have each inherited half of her Great Uncle's estate. They must share the estate for 6 months before either can sell their share. So do they settle their past? May McGoldrick's "A Midsummer Wedding" has lowlander Elizabeth Hay facing a marriage arranged when she was a child to highlander Alexander Macpherson. She has waited long enough for him and wants to make him back out so she can do as she wants. She pretends to be someone else to meet him but a storm forces them together. Sabrina York's "The Scot Says I Do" finds Catherine 's brother Peter trying to marry her off. But at 12 she fell in love with the family's groom, Duncan Mackay, who saved her life and then broke her young heart. What a coincidence that Peter now owes Duncan a large sum of money. Will the heart broken at 12 be able to heal and find a HEA?

'Say Yes to the Scot' is a box set with 4 different stories with a total of 410 pages long. I not sure how you could go wrong with this box set! It's the collection of some of the best authors for Historical Romance. Also it is a great way to meet new authors....this gives you a taste of their writing style. I always love box set too for when I need a quick romance fix while waiting for an appointment or for a quick book for bed. HOW A LASS WED A HIGHLANDER by Lecia Cornwall *** Alex is trying to come up with a plan to help his clan who just survived another raid which has dislocated several families. In addition he is trying to figure out how to feed them all before winter hits them. But his Aunt isn't giving up with the story that has been in their family for three hundred of years about The Munros of Culmore have given the credit to the fairs for all the goo that has happened in their lives. Now to fix all the bad things that have been happening his family and clan feel he must marry by Midsummer's Eve. Cait just wanted to stop another clan feud but now is caught by Alex. A MATCH MADE IN HEATHER by Anna Harrington *** Garrick once worked for Arabel's family about 10 years ago. Garrick and Arabel fell in love and had planned to runaway together and marry. But on the night they were to elope, Arabel came to him to say that her brother had gotten into series trouble and she could not leave yet. Arabel asked that he wait with her as her family fixed this latest problem the brother had caused. Bu t Garrick has excepted a new job that starts in three days and doesn't understand her choosing her family over him. They argue and she leaves but not before he is attacked and warned to stay away from her. Now 10 years later they meet again but this time Garrick isn't the poor stable boy and Arabel is engaged. A MIDSUMMER WEDDING by May McGoldrick *** Elizabeth and Alexander were betrothed to be married when they were children but have never met. Elizabeth turned to helping her father and became a smart, musical bookish sort of lady who when at 18 years of age had dreams of marrying Alexander but he never came. Now at 23 she is happy with giving up that dream and working with her father. Alexander is total different from Elizabeth in that he is a pirate and very outspoken...and doesn't live a very quiet life. But the day has come for them to say their vows... can these two work out their differences? THE SCOT SAYS I DO by Sabrina York *** Catherine had met Duncan when she was a young girl when her father took her to the Highlands to stay. Duncan had actually saved her from drowning and ever since Catherine had been in love with him. But Duncan had treated her as a little sister and even kissed other women in front of her. Then he just up and left the area and her father's lands. Now years later she swears she hates him in her mind. Her father has past and her younger brother seems to have gotten himself in trouble by gambling away everything. Duncan has acquired everything Catherine's brother has and to settle the debit she must marry him. Duncan has always been drawn to Catherine but tried to hid it best he could but her father saw through that...and didn't want him with her. Now the father is gone and Duncan has taken on the brothers debit...time has changed but has he toward Catherine? "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

In HOW A LASS WED A HIGHLANDER, Lecia Cornwall gives delightful and whimsical twists to the classic fairytale The Princess and the Pea. I felt the sex scene clashed with the lyricism and the tone of the story, which genuinely read like a fairytale: light, fresh, and so lovely. Everything else is magnificent: the lush prose, the attention to detail, the crisp descriptions, the splendid secondary characters, the adorable Cait and the engaging Alex, and the spin on the pea is positively brilliant. Anna Harrington is next with her fabulous A MATCH MADE IN HEATHER. This story is so emotional, and so meticulously crafted it felt more like a condensed novel than a novella. The characters are fully fleshed out, no detail is neglected, and we get the whole story behind the sorry mess. Ms. Harrington conveys Scottish pride as I have seldom seen, and there is a wonderful and completely unexpected moment when we feel the ice begin to melt between Garrick and Arabel; it was charming and felt completely genuine. This is a very beautifully written, engrossing grand love story that held me captive throughout. A MIDSUMMER WEDDING by May McGoldrick is a marvellous, mesmerising, and enthralling story. There is such a lovely, gentle touch to the prose, a refined elegance and wit, and yet the action scenes are breathtaking in their authenticity and impression of movement. I was so completely immersed in this story, that the outside world faded away for a while. The ending is dramatic and, as everything else in this story, absolute perfection. The last novella is Sabrina York’s THE SCOT SAYS I DO. Although I got the impression that this novella fit somewhere in a series, there were so many secondary characters, which were marvellous. I thought there was too much happening in this novella, and not enough emphasis was put on creating some connection between Catherine and Duncan, beside a sexual one. On the other hand, they are a fine match because they are both consumed by lust; this was not a love story, but a lust story. I was really impressed by the quality of the writing, the choice vocabulary and the impeccable dialogues. May McGoldrick, who are a writing team and were new to me, would have made this anthology a five-star read regardless of the other novellas because I was astonished by the charm that permeates the whole story, the magnificent period details, the cleverness of the plot; in short the utter perfection of A MIDSUMMER WEDDING. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
