About the Author:
Marilyn C. Barrick, Ph.D., has been a clinical psychologist and relationship
counselor for over 35 years. She is the author of Sacred Psychology of Love:
The Quest for Relationships that Unite Heart and Soul, the first in her
series on spiritual psychology. She maintains a private practice as a
clinical psychologist and conducts workshops in the U.S., Canada and Europe.
Dr. Barrick's book Sacred Psychology of Change comes directly out of her
work and life experience. "As I learn and grow with my clients," she says,
"I feel
it's important to share the insights I gain with those I may never meet
face-to-face. This book is all about our soul's mastery of cycles of change
and becoming more of who we really are."
Dr. Barrick has consulted as a psychological expert to schools, government
agencies, professional advisory boards and a variety of mental health
facilities. She also taught graduate level courses for the Department of
Psychology at the University of Colorado and served with the Peace Corps as
a training development officer and field counselor.
She has also been a minister for twenty-three years in a church that
integrates the spiritual teachings of the world's major religions. Combining
psychological expertise and in-depth spiritual understanding, she
specializes in inner-child work, relationship counseling, dream analysis,
Gestalt techniques, spiritual self-help exercises and EMDR trauma release
