Virginia, who writes under the name V.S. Griffin, lives in Houston, Texas with her four children. She has been in the music industry as an accomplished, in demand pianist for majority of her career, but recently retired to pursue writing what she calls memoir fiction. When she isn’t writing, Virginia enjoys quality time with her children at museums, walks in the park, sports events and trying out new restaurants.

I am not a book critic but what I can say is I enjoyed reading Phoenix Rising. The scene setting and story telling kept me entertained from start to finish. I liked the way the author weaved between the different viewpoints of the same situation, of the characters involved. We all live through our own trials and circumstances, so although the main character had some of these hardest occurrences to get through, her story, this story is one that can provide encouragement to all those who read it.

Very emotional read. This book had me very emotional from beginning to end. As mesmerizing as it was, I had to stop at one point and gather myself. Victoria faced more than her fair share of trials ad tribulations. But she remained strong through it all, even in her low moments. She finally realized that when God speaks, HE will command your attention one way or another. And if you listen you'll make it through your prodigal journey and rise... just like a Phoenix!

Grab a box of tissue!! The title of the book in itself caught my attention. I was eager to find out "who" the phoenix represented and "what/where" the phoenix was actually rising from or even to. The author does a good job capturing her audience the moment the introduction is made. She pulls you into a story of pain, triumph, suspense and she even adds her own flair of steamy romance.

Phoenix Rising is a must read. V had no idea that she would experience some of the most trying situations of her life, however, as her resilience has it, she still stood despite it all. This novel literally took me on a roller-coaster that channeled so many mixed emotions. If you are an avid reader and you like suspense, drama, and ultimate triumph, then this is the book for you.
