Chapter One
Alistair was overjoyed with the moving and revealing of Holy Spirit in and through him and his father that Thanksgiving Day. He hugged his dad goodbye and got out of the car. On entering his home he was expecting Pooh bear, his cat, to come greet him. He thought to himself, ok cat wherever you are, you are fired as a greeting committee. He reached for the phone to call Bowen and told of his overwhelming experience. Alistair quoted to Bowen the bible verses where Jesus said; abide in Me and let my Word abide in you and I will manifest Myself to you.
"Bowen! I've been reading and applying where I sense Holy Spirit has been leading me and it happened!! He manifested! It was so awesome!"
Bowen was just on his way out for ball practice, so the two decided to meet the next day with Belinda and Jereda. Then they could all get the full details on this amazing testimony.
Rev 11:12
"I love holiday Mondays," said Belinda "especially after Thanksgiving, lots of left over pumpkin pie and turkey. All three sat in captivated silence as Alistair recounted the events from the previous day.
"Wow Alistair too cool!" Praise You Jesus!" said Belinda. "I love when Holy Spirit manifests that way. I remember hearing about a guy overseas who when he got the baptism of Holy Spirit couldn't speak his native tongue for three whole weeks!"
"Oh my goodness, he couldn't talk for three weeks?" questioned Alistair.
"Oh he talked alright but in a different tongue." said Belinda.
"You mean like the Latin they speak in church?" asked Alistair.
Acts 2:4
All three looked at Alistair, bewildered. "Latin? Where did you get that idea from." said Bowen.
"Well, a church I visited once, the priest spoke Latin. Same thing isn't it?"
"No, no, no" said Jereda. "When the people in church speak out, its in tongues, not Latin. Tongues are from the Holy Spirit. It takes the same kind of faith to speak in tongues as it did to receive Jesus. If you want, all three of us can pray for you here Alistair to receive the baptism of Holy Spirit."
Huge brakes were going on inside Alistair as thoughts of him not being able to speak English for three weeks flooded his mind.
"Ah, no that's ok thanks, maybe some other day. I need to be getting back home. My cat, Pooh didn't come home last night and I want to see if she has come back.
At that the four got up, said their goodbyes and headed home for supper.
2 Timothy 1:7
Alistair searched the house and the grounds calling his cat but no sign of his Pooh bear. Pooh bear loved sleeping beside him every night and tonight was the second night that she was missing. Alistair kneeled on the side of his bed, burdened over his cat.
"Please Father, let my cat be ok, watch over her and lead her safely home to me, in Jesus name I pray, Amen."
Thoughts of his friends dog having been lost a year ago bombarded his mind. His friend was also a Christian but his dog never came back. Alistair strengthen himself in the word of God remembering the scripture about the persistent widow, how daily she came before the judge on a matter and finally after wearying the judge she got her request. Alistair told himself he would persist longer and harder in prayer than his friend. Also he decided he would hand out flyers in the neighbour describing his cat and the phone number he could be reached at.
Luke 18:5
One Sunday after church Belinda, Jereda and Bowen approached Alistair about getting the baptism of Holy Spirit again. They explained to him how he would receive power when Holy Spirit would come upon him.
"I also remember hearing about a missionary who went to Spain and couldn't speak a word of Spanish but she fasted and prayed. After three days she came out of the hotel speaking Spanish. One man said to her, when did you learn the language and she answered, I'm learning as I speak to you."
"Neat-O, that's pretty freaky" said Alistair "but I think I would like to read a bit more in the bible. I'm still not sure I'm ready for that."
"Its easy Alistair, you just receive, you're already saved." said Bowen.
"No, not today, maybe some other day." said Alistair.
