Overview

Dedicated to SSG Michael J. Fry who had to leave his wife and two children during Operation Desert Storm, a Tour in Korea, and Operation Iraqi Freedom II.
As a former child of a service member I remember times that I was not able to be with my Dad. When I was in the 1st Grade, my Father was overseas without his family and I did not understand why I could not go with him. Mother worked extremely hard to make sure that we were still occupied to keep off him as well as set up the computer so that we could communicate with our father. This was all the way back in 1999 when a webcam and video chat was not what it is today. We saw him on a small screen maybe 1 inch by 1 inch. Regardless you would see us all around the computer talking to him and seeing him move picture by picture. About 4 years later we had to see him go again because he had to deploy, and we set up the same system we did before. The quality was better, yet with the slow internet it still was not the same we have today.
This book is dedicated to my father and other parents that must leave their family behind. This book is based off me; however, this book is not Gender Exclusive. Please feel free to change the words to Mommy, Aunt, Uncle etc. It is my hope that this book helps someone one day.
