A story of challenge and change...
Larry and Michael have been best friends since kindergarten. Michael lives in the rough side of town. Larry lives in an upper-middle class neighborhood. Their diversity strengthens their unbreakable friendship. Now, in eight grade, Larry is scheduled for an operation that will forever change his life. Wearing leg braces since the age of two, he will have to get used to life without them! Then, there's Tyler, a natural born athlete, handsome, intelligent, and filled with an over-sized ego. Tyler looks up to his older brother, a number one collegiate athlete with a bright future. Tom, Tyler's older brother, comes home for Christmas break and is unexpectedly wounded while helping a stranger. The operation to help Tom walk again will also change his life!
Everything Tyler thinks is important: looks, athletic skills, and superficial trappings is questioned when he find out Tom can no longer the The Golden Boy, an NFL draft choice. After their surgeries, Tom and Larry meet each therapy through physical therapy. The two healing patients strike an unusual friendship: both find themselves kindred spirits. The teens' changing situations open new doors for them. Together, they see sides of themselves that challenge their character and perspectives. Tyler begins to see that courage, endurance, and dreams make Larry more similar to him than different.
