Overview

The book is a 'Non Fiction' book (also Self-Help), in the same Genre as Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People". It will benefit not only those who want to be Managers in their industry, but also existing Managers. It will also help people in general, who want to succeed in life. It is based on factual incidents in the author's life and what he learned from them as to 'what to do' and 'what not to do'. Some of his insights are contrary to popular beliefs. It is a book he wishes he had 'to read', as he was growing up, and when he started his career. A kind of 'show me the way', a road map. It offers a unique perspective on life, his perspective. Each chapter is based on a nugget of wisdom he has gleaned from experience. For example – A simple way to do Product Research, without a budget and without product knowledge; How to get free training for your employees; How to get the client on your side. Just to name a few. The book is also about empowering others to be leaders. The book is punctuated by quotes and original art, graphics, cartoons, to make the reading easier and interesting.

The book offers an easy read and illustrates how one can succeed in life and in one's career. The book prepares one to think outside-the-box and be unique.

About the Author

The author was a freelance writer for the Bangkok Post, for one year in Bangkok (Thailand), in 1975. He wrote a weekly, one full page article, on topics decided by the Bangkok Post, for the Sunday edition, every Sunday. He has also published many technical articles and white papers for various companies in his career.

His clients would often vie with each other, for him to be their contractor’s counterpart. He got a positive feedback from many of his ex-employees. One even wrote to him that (as a new manager) he would often think WWVD (What Would Vikram Do) in any situation, and act accordingly.

He has over 48 years of professional experience – primarily in management in the fields of ‘Electrical Engineering’ and ‘Computer Science’. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master Degree in Computer Science. He has a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI), which has been renewed twice (it has to be renewed every 3 years). He also has several years of public presentation experience.
