Desde pequeña, la autora ha sido amante del arte y ha tenido mucho interés por la pintura. Durante su tiempo en el bachillerato, ella estuvo aprendiendo sobre el arte público, el cual es una materia que se trata de las culturas y las vidas del pasado. Así, a través de los murales mayas que aprendió por el arte público, ella aprendió del Pop Wuj que es el mito de creación de los mayas. Consecuentemente, ella descubre que el Pop Wuj es similar al cuento popular coreano [Hermana Sol y Hermano Luna].

Esta sorpresa y curiosidad parece haber sido el punto de partida que llevó a la autora a escribir este libro. La autora ha planificado y compuesto este libro para que más allá de la simple comparación de los dos cuentos, se pueda aprender sobre la mitología maya que es ajena a los conocimientos del lector. Además, al comparar las culturas de dos regiones muy diferentes, hace que se pueda pensar de las similitudes y las diferencias, así para que el lector pueda entender debidamente su cultura y la cultura de una sociedad ajena a la suya.
Por otro lado, la autora muestra que, aunque los humanos vivan en diferentes ambientes, pueden compartir ideas comunes por ser ellos miembros de la misma raza humana, y nos recuerda que las emociones que los humanos pueden tener no son muy diferentes a pesar de las diferencias regionales.
Si hacemos lo posible para respetarnos unos a otros en este mundo que está dividido por ideologías, religiones, conflictos raciales y odio a las minorías sexuales, de seguro podremos superar nuestras diferencias y coexistir pacíficamente juntos.
Después de leer este libro, se espera que los niños puedan formar amistades, trascendiendo razas, religiones y regiones al igual que Yeonju y Juan. Se desea que hayan más niños que iluminen el mundo, libre de prejuicios, con respeto y consideración a los demás.

This surprise and curiosity was the starting point for the author to write this book. In planning and organizing this book, the author is not simply comparing the two stories, but telling us about the myths of the Mayan civilization that were unfamiliar to us.
In addition, the author explains readers how to understand cultures correctly by making them think about their commonalities and differences by comparing cultures in different regions. In other words, the author shows that humans live in different environments, but can share universal thoughts as members of the same human society, and reminds us that the emotions humans can have are not very different.
If we do our best to respect each other in a world divided by ideology, religion, ethnic conflict, hatred for sexual minorities, wouldn't we be able to overcome our differences and coexist peacefully?
After reading this book, I hope that children will become friends across ethnic and religious, and areas like Yeonjoo and Hwan. Also, I hope that many children will appear in this world with a mind to abandon prejudice, acknowledge each other's differences, and care for each other.
