Identifying thousands of historical fiction novels, biographies, history trade books, CD-ROMs, and videotapes help you locate world history resources for students. Each is divided into two sections. In the first part, titles are listed according to grade levels within specific geographic areas and time periods. They are further organized by product type. Both books cover world history from Prehistory and the Ancient World to 54 B.C. to the modern era. Like Adamsons Literature Connections to American History (Libraries Unlimited, 1997), these books sort through the wealth of material on world history for children and teens and organize it in ways that teachers and librarians will find both logical and accessible. Each volume has three sections. The first is a series of book lists organized by continent and historical period. Each segment is further divided into grade levels and arranged by genres: historical fiction, biography, history, and multimedia (CD-ROMs and videos). Many entries appear on several lists. The second and largest section is the annotated bibliography of resources organized by format. The entries are arranged alphabetically by author and include full citations, recommended ages, synopses, and awards. Author/illustrator, title, and subject indexes make up the third section.
