"A graphic portrait of evil." --M. William Phelps

"One of the best true crime books of all time." --Examiner.com

"The book to read about Aileen Wuornos--a case that has fascinated true crime fans from around the world." --True Crime Book Reviews

As a child, she was abandoned, abused and raped. By her teens, she was deep into a lifestyle of hitchhiking, petty crime, and the sex trade. In her twisted mind, uncontrollable bouts of violence were pure survival skills.

In 1986 she began a lesbian relationship with Tyria Moore. Three years later, tired of turning tricks, she fired four bullets into one of her clients--then robbed him. She claimed she killed six more victims before authorities finally locked her behind bars.

Award-winning journalist Sue Russell updates her harrowing and definitive real-life thriller with new details of the most famous female serial killer's decade on death row, her execution in 2002--and the lasting impact of her dark deeds.

The case that inspired the Academy Awarding-winning movie Monster

"A riveting and fascinating tale." --Robert Scott

More like 20 minutes...
Sue Russell's "Lethal Intent," unlike some true-crime stories, pulls the reader inexorably into the warped world of her subject. Lee Wuorno, who took great pride in her accomplishments, lived in a world of fear, pride, violence, shame and despair. Her path to the death chamber seemed almost surefooted from her earliest days and the hopeless background from which she emerges. This serial killer--rare not only in her gender--definitely wanted her 15 minutes of fame for killing seven men. In fact, she wanted more like 20...

I can see why some of the critics are calling "Lethal Inten
I can see why some of the critics are calling "Lethal Intent" one of the best true crime books of all time. It really does have to be ranked with such classics as "Helter Skelter" by Vincent Bugliosi and even "In Cold Blood" by Capote. The author delves deeply into serial killer Aileen Wuornos's troubled formative years and shows how the deck was stacked against her. When following Wuornos's adult life and ultimately her killing of seven men, the author lets the facts build up and speak for themselves. Because Wuornos - who was executed in Florida some years back -- was a rare breed of serial killer in that she murdered strangers, men who gave her a lift and picked her up on the roadside, she bears this kind of scrutiny. LOVE THIS BOOK! Highly recommend it to anyone interested in true
LOVE THIS BOOK! Highly recommend it to anyone interested in true crime, Aileen Wuornos or her victims. Author Sue Russell put together a very informative, attention grabbing book. I COULDN’T PUT IT DOWN, and plowed through all 576 pages in a few short days! The picture selection is great too, as it allows the reader to get a glimpse of everyone included in the book and also Aileen’s childhood.
