About the Author

The author, Carl C. Smith and his wife, Danna, have been life-long residents of Lewistown, Pa. They have two sons, Robert and his wife, Julie, who live in Maryland and Michael and his wife Jessica, who live in Lewistown. They also have 5 grandchildren and a Corgi named Jade.
Carl graduated from Lewistown High School in 1964 and received his teaching degree from Shippensburg State College in 1968. He taught English from 1969 to 2003 at the former Rothrock, Lewistown and Indian Valley High Schools and the former Mifflin/Juniata Vo Tech School. He then did substitute teaching until 2013.
In 1973, he purchased the family business, Smith Tire and Performance Center, and ran it until he sold it in 1993.
