Overview

Mohammad Forouzani (Martin Foroz)'s collection of poems is the poet inside out! He was born in Persia, with a no-race, no-colour, no-dogma, human-per-se beat in his ink. Martin targets religious dogma, political persecution, censorship and war of ideologies in most of his poems. He speaks for thousands of Martins who have been suppressed, tortured for questioning a belief, banned from voicing the truth and celled where darkness enlightened passion for writing in the company of far-fetched loved ones. Martin's inside, as such, is out in most of his poems. He also writes passionately about, of, from nature, love, regrets, dones and not-dones and hopes to be understood by the loved ones he left behind in the quest for freedom.

About the Author

Mohammad Forouzani (Martin Foroz) was born on the 30th of December 1964 in Tehran, Iran. He holds BA and MA degrees in English Literature and a PhD degree in TEFL. At present (2016-17), he is an assistant professor of English Language and Literature at the University of Nizwa, Oman.
In the past 16 years, he has been teaching and supervising theses in both fields, but his literary and philosophical bent formed his poetic sense much earlier - at the beginning of secondary school. He insatiably read Persian literature (his first language) and wrote poems and pieces of prose since he was in high school. His first collection of Persian poems under the title Khaste-tar az zaman (More Tired Than Time) was published in 1997 when he was a Lecturer of English. He continued writing poems, satires, and social critiques in Persian, and since late 2013, he decided to organize his English notes and sketches into verse.
