A dark story of good versus evil as the wicked step-mother convinces the children's father that the children must be taken into the woods and left to die. While wandering alone in the deep dark forest, the children meet a witch living in a cottage made of candy and cakes. The witch imprisons them and plans to cook them in her big oven. Finally managing to escape they make their way home to be reunited with their distraught and now widowed father. There to live happily every after.
