About the Author

The author of two dozen books about Oregon, William L. Sullivan is a fifth-generation Oregonian. He writes outdoor columns for Eugene Weekly, the Eugene Register-Guard and the Salem Statesman-Journal. His journal of a 1000-mile backpacking trek across Oregon, published as "Listening for Coyote", was chosen one of the state's 100 Books. He lives with his wife Janell Sorensen in Eugene, but spends summers in the remote log cabin they built by hand in Oregon's Coast Range without a road or power tools. More information about Sullivan's books, adventures, audio books, and speaking engagements is at oregonhiking.com .
