About the Author

Dr. S.S. Shashi, an eminent Anthropologist , litterateur, academician and journalist, was awarded Padmashri in1990 for his multifaceted achievements in the field of literature. A social anthropologist of international repute, he has to his credit several books, monologues, dictionaries, encyclopaedias and also books for children and poetic works. Dr. Shashi was awarde. Ph.D.(Sociology) from Agra University and D. Lit. in Anthropology for his pioneering work on the Roma of Europe and America. He has his post-graduation in Man Management and Manpower Planning from Manchester University, U.K. His works have been included in the international Who's Who of intellectuals and various Who's Who published in lndia and abroad. A versatile genius, Dr. Shashi was Media Head and Director, Publication6 Division of the Ministry of information and Broadcasting, Government of lndia for 10years. He is associated with a number of literary, research, academic, sociocultural and welfare organisation viz. ISA,IAA, AGl, Translators Association. He worked for lnternational lnstitute of Cultural and Languages Research Foundation as Chairman. Dr. Shashi has specialised on nomadic communities of lndia and abroad.
