CHAPTER 1

Devin the duck was born only three days ago. He lives with his mom and his brother and sister near a quite pond in the country.

One day Devin decides to go on a journey to find the answer to his question. Devin's mother has always told him about the dangers that lie in the woods, but he decides to be brave and set off anyway.

Devin meets Mr. Rat and Mr. Squirrel along the path. They warn him about the hunters they saw in the woods and told him to be careful.

Devin walks cautiously as he proceeds deeper into the woods. Up ahead he sees something hopping and jumping.

Devin starts laughing out loud because he has never seen big floppy ears before. Mrs. Rabbit laughs too and asks Devin, "What are you doing so far from the pond?"

Mrs. Rabbit answers him by saying, "Mr. Owl would definitely know. So continue down the path you go."

Devin takes Mrs. Rabbit's advice and continues down the path to find Mr. Owl. Devin sees something up ahead that is wearing a mask and wonders if this animal could be Mr. Owl.

A few steps closer, Devin is greeted by an animal that is wearing a mask and has dark rings on his tail.

Devin asks, "Are you Mr. Owl?"

Mr. Raccoon answers, "No" and introduces himself to Devin.

Devin sags, "I need to find Mr. Owl so I can ask him mg question. Can you help me?"

Mr. Raccoon answers him by saying, "The path you most travel may be long, so never stray and always be strong."

Devin continues down the path until he sees an animal that looks like a squirrel. Devin starts walking towards her.
