This is a reprint of the text originally published in 1992 by the U. Press of Colorado. In the opening narrative, Ch<'a>vez (National Hispanic Cultural Center, Albuquerque) provides a basic overview of New Mexico's past. The remaining six chapters, chronologically-ordered from the pre-Columbian period to the 1980s, combine some 200 photographs with quotes from each of the six time periods. Annotation c.
