Overview

An Enduring Passion is a collection of true patient stories shared by the author who has spent 55 years in the company of her patients. At an age when most people have been retired for several years, She continues to work because her work has been her life's passion, and she is unable to imagine a day without her patients. She talks about the families that she comforts with hugs and her own tears, despite the warning not to become emotionally involved. The stories She recalls are real. She shares her own personal experiences of becoming a patient and how it has allowed her to truly empathize with hers. She takes her readers into the long, sometimes understaffed shifts which are physically and emotionally exhausting, but she always remembers that her patients depend on her, so She puts her best foot forward and sometimes finds it necessary to smile through her own pain. After more than half a century with her many patients, She has concluded that she would not have done anything else with her life.
