About the Author

Merle A. Reinikka is a former editor of the American Orchid Society Bulletin. Over a period of years he carefully sorted through archival materials, cross-referenced bibliographies, and studied early herbals, journals, periodicals, pamphlets, and papers at the Botanical Museum of Harvard University. With this wealth of information he completed this fascinating and comprehensive survey of orchid history.
