Each experience written in the form of poetry, tells of my detrimental mindset through my art form. This book started as a need to express my most intricate thoughts and emotions by explaining each piece of poetry and my thought process behind them. I've always felt the need to explain my experiences to others. How my thought process led me to make the decisions I did when it came to my mental well being.

It was through the thirty-six day guided personal journal that I realized the most important aspect of my mental health had everything to do with me, how I saw myself, my trauma, mental health issues and no one else.

About the Author

Kira Savvy started her journey of uncovering the truths behind her mental health during the pandemic of 2020. This critical time in history left her searching for a better existence within herself and around her. While coping with her mental health she always wanted to allow her work to be beneficial to others. She started her first independent self-help podcast Literally Just T.A.W.K. Radio (To. Acknowledge. With. Knowledge. 2020) in her leisure time, thus her public persona and pen name Kira Savvy was born.

While obtaining an Apprenticeship Certification through Public Allies Delaware (2020-2021); an organization that teaches leadership in the non-profit sector– she learned what it means to be on the forefront of serving the community she lived in. Through her apprenticeship she worked as a Virtual Internship Program Developer with the Delaware Historical Society's Jane and Littleton Mitchell Center for African American Heritage.


She published her first piece of work "More than Meets the"I": Vivid paintings of poetry while recording her podcast (2022) promoting herself as a Poet and Writer.
Following the untimely deaths of her late mother and younger brother (2023), Kira was faced with the difficult decision to discontinue her podcast and focus on her mental health.


Amid her grieving, she harnessed the strength to continue to pursue her journey not just as a Writer but also as a Poet and Direct Care Professional. While writing “A Compilation of Complications with No Explanations”, she assists Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental disabilities to support them in learning independent living skills(2022-present). Through her walk with Christ, increasing her faith and the word of God as her guide she has learned to overcome many obstacles. Kira has understood through her many experiences, both personal and professional, what it means to never give up, follow your dreams, take care of your mind and believe in a better tomorrow. She aspires to inspire others with her journey by way of Public Speaking in the near future.
