Overview

When Michael Sarno turned "74," he started looking back and reflecting on his many wonderful, funny and crazy years on this earth (to that point). Even though his hands and fingers had permanent nerve damage (and many other serious injuries) resulting from a fall down a set of concrete stairs. He grabbed his keyboard and started typing... typing... and typing! After almost a year and a half of writing, he ended up with a 60,000+ word "Novel " about the fun times, bad times and constant craziness that has always surrounded his world...

It is a charming look at some very funny and poignant stories, written in the form of little vignettes, complete with amusing pen and ink sketches. We can relate to many of his experiences, as I'm sure we all have a crazy uncle or been attacked by an out of control dog, at some time in our own life. It's a comical journey through his life, work, family, good memories and bad... it will keep you captivated. As the title suggests, he's been here for almost 3/4 of a century, but still doesn't know what he wants to be...

About the Author

Michael Sarno was not always a writer. In fact, he never was. Over the last half century, Michael has worked in a wide variety of media, creating art and designing interiors and objects. The scope of his work can be seen in private homes across the east coast, and reached as far as retail shops in London. It wasn't until a fall two years ago that took away his ability to work, that he started writing about his crazy and colorful life...

As a child, he had a famous pen pal by the name of Walt Disney, and would send his illustrations to the Visionary Cartoonist for his personal critique and input. After winning many art awards in middle and high school, he accepted a full scholarship to study at Parsons in New York City for illustration. Ironically, he would soon discover that his high school art teachers were far advanced even beyond that of Parsons. After a short time, he decided to leave college and venture out into the world of freelance art and design. Working early on in his career as Director of Visuals and Store Design for many top department stores in New York, he simultaneously continued with his art work in many forms. Throughout the decades, as he evolved into a well respected Store Designer, he never gave up his passion for creating art, whether it be sketching, photography, or large scale murals for commercial or residential projects. As far as his creativity is concerned, he is now in his most productive time ever. Besides creating vibrantly colored compositions on various size canvas and textured panels, he has now added apparel to the mix, painting on sneakers, hats, shirts, and even tote bags. He is currently working on his next book. You can view his artwork at www.michaelsarno.com.
