Chance Negro is your ordinary teenage kid. He goes to school, gets good grades, plays sports, has a job and a girlfriend. That can change in a blink of an eye as he's left with a shocking ultimatum by his mother to pack up their things in the middle of the school year and go with her, or stay behind and finish up the school year while she's away living the best life that she dreamed of before she had kids.
Left to fend for themselves Chance and his brother Romello are faced with a horrifying decision that could change the fabric of their lives. Get on welfare or take Knowledge's offer who happens to be childhood friends with his eldest brother Proverb. He decides to take the offer and in doing so begins down a dark path that will challenge him in every way imaginable. Only time will tell if he survives or perishes by the choices he's made.
