"I reported police investigations for forty years and in my my professional career I lived a life with my colleagues, with police officers, with fire fighters, but also with the all sorts of criminals. Practising journalism, I always had as a priority to inform objectively the readers, the listeners and my television viewers. I did not like to condemn or acquit the criminals and the variations of outlaws – this is not the work of a journalist. It is the work of the public prosecutors and judges. I never mixed my role with the role of another –they are each distinguishable. […] Almost all, that are included in this book, I have known personally. And all without exception I met making reports of the offences for which they were accused and condemned of – and I can tell you, that they are people with feelings, with faults but also virtues, which they used for the wrong reasons and aims.
