Overview

A soldier's courage brings him to his sweetheart. A wife's love brings his story to life.

Zero Ward is the autobiographical account of Lt. Sneddon's experiences in WWII, and contains his illustrations of the horrors he saw and lived through during his time as a POW.

In 1941 Second Lt. Murray Sneddon was stationed in Manila when the Japanese bombed the airfields that marked the beginning of the United States involvement in WWII. He was a member of the Air Force troops that were sent as infantry units to Bataan to defend the coast. It was here that Lt. Sneddon was taken prisoner by the Japanese and marched the infamous Bataan Death March. The thoughts of the freedom that was sure to come, and his family and sweetheart that waited his return to the U.S.A. helped to make the time bearable as he was subjected to inhumane treatment.

After coming home he was able to live his dream, and part of the dream was to put his experiences on paper. Sadly, he passed on before it could be completed. With the same love that brought her sweetheart home many years ago, his wife finished his work and brought his life-story into print.
