Overview

The Cocalico Valley of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, was a rural area in the 18th century. Yet it was home to twenty clockmakers from 1750-1850. These craftsmen were known to make high-quality tall case clocks. From the Gorgas family of the mid-1700's to the Fraser family 100 years later, many of their clocks continue to survive and are highly sought. "The Clockmakers of the Cocalico Valley" details the history of this honored profession in a quiet section of Penn's Woods.
