About the Author

A native Californian, Diana Jessie is a sailor, writer, and lecturer. She contributes to national magazines including Sail, Cruising World, Yachting, Blue Water Sailing, and Ocean Navigator. Her column, "Realistic Cruising," has appeared monthly in Puget Sound's 48° North for over a decade. Her first book, The Cruising Woman's Advisor, explored new territory describing the needs and expectations of women. Twice she has been awarded the Mary Grandin Trophy by St. Francis Yacht Club for outstanding contributions to cruising by a woman. This book Cruising with Your Four-Footed Friends explores the basics of having your favorite cat or dog aboard your boat. She is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors and Boating Writers International. She lives with her husband and cat aboard their 48' sailboat on San Francisco Bay.
