Overview

Published as an outgrowth of a July 2000 NATO Advanced Research Workshop, this volume brings together work representing the various generally non-interacting scientific communities concerned with the workshop topic, in the interests of generating some cross-talk. The field has seen some major recent developments, some finding their way into commercial, general purpose software intended for complex industrial applications. Thirteen contributions consider four major themes: flexible multibody systems, finite element procedures for structural systems with large rotations, numerical integration methods for rigid and flexible systems, and advanced methods in systems with large rigid body motion. The contributors are based in France, Italy, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Poland, the US, and Australia. Author index only. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
