Zadie Smith is an English novelist, essayist, and short story writer, and the recipient of a number of highly coveted prizes, including the Orange Prize for Fiction and the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award. In 2002, she was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. Her novel White Teeth was included in Time magazine's list of 100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005.
